The Rain
Written by Michael S. Hysinger – michaelhysinger@yahoo.com
I look in your eyes and see the loneliness there and
I reach out my hand to you to show that I care
I see a light in the sky reflecting down from somewhere
As you are sitting there in your solitude
I look out your window see the stars in the night
As I stare at the candle with its flickering light
I start to notice the shadows as they dance out of sight
Then I think of you and your solitude
I see the sorrow
I see the pain
I feel the cold from the rain
I feel the wind move
I hear your call
As all your tears start to fall
Somewhere oh long ago when you were still free
You used to laugh in the sunshine and you played in the breeze
But then winter set in and now you’re locked in between
All of your fears and all of your solitude
I look out your window see the stars in the night
As I stare at the candle with its flickering light
I start to notice the shadows as they dance out of sight
Then I think of you and your solitude
I see the sorrow
I see the pain
I feel the cold from the rain
I hear the laughter
You call my name
I feel what love can’t contain
