Goodbye to Hollywood
Copyright 2006 Michael S. Hysinger
Left my home for Hollywood – thought that I could make it good at last
Palm trees on the boulevard – see the people living hard and fast
Through the café door it seems - hills rise up above me
Watching all the broken dreams – pouring cups of coffee
It’s time to say my goodbyes
I’ve got to let go and learn how to fly
Goodbye to Hollywood
I’ll be free – Goodbye
Hello to me
In this land of Tinsel Town - plastic smiles turn upside down offstage
Drowning pain at lonely bars - driving ‘round in fancy car parades
I sold my soul to play the part – of something I can’t feel
Writing songs not in my heart – it seems I’ve lost what’s real
It’s time to say my goodbyes
I’ve got to let go and learn how to fly
Goodbye to Hollywood
I’ll be free – Goodbye
Hello to me
I start to feel again – and through my song I find me
I’ll live for real again with Hollywood behind me
It’s time to say my goodbyes
I’ve got to let go and learn how to fly
Goodbye to Hollywood
I’ll be free – Goodbye
Hello to me
