Symphonic Poem:  From Silence into Eternity

The poem below was written in conjunction with the above Orchestral Work. The idea behind the opening was “From Silence…” and the working title became “From Silence Into Eternity” but the music took a drastic shift in feel beyond the title.  After I finished the piece I thought of it as a Tone Poem or Symphonic Poem and decided to write an actual poem that captured the shift and tied the entire piece back to the title. 

Here’s the poem:

From Silence into Eternity

Out of the Silence emerged a sound

Like a spark rising from the embers

The stillness gave way to movement

The movement evolved into Dance

A Dance of Emotion and Energy

Moving towards the Joy of Eternity
