Evening Sky
Written by Michael S. Hysinger – michaelhysinger@yahoo.com
As I look upon the evening sky - Where the green shades into blue
All the colors of my soul reveal - The place that once was you
As I sit and watch the clouds roll by - Day surrenders to the night
In the same way that I’m lost to you - Dreams have lost their light
Setting sun, the rising moon, the silent tears start breaking through this
Wall of stone that’s keeping me from you
Evening sky, the seagull’s flight, the changing clouds, the fading light as
Darkness starts to cover up what’s true
Voices whisper in the evening breeze - Telling me you’ve gone away
To a land beyond this world of tears - Silently they say:
Look upon the evening sky and find the place where colors cry and
Merge into the ever changing night
In the darkness light is clear the evening sky it calls me here to
Look for you beyond the evening light
All I see and All I know Starts disappearing as I go
Around in circles staring at the darkness as it closes in but
Where are you and where am I - I wonder as I start to cry
I see you there beyond the evening sky
Can’t reach you now no matter how I try
As I look upon the evening sky - Where the green shades into blue
All the colors of my soul reveal - The place that once was you
As I look among the stars for you -Suddenly I see a light
Then it streaks across the sky toward me - Then disappears from sight
Setting sun, the rising moon, the silent tears start breaking through this
Wall of stone that’s keeping me from you
Evening sky, the seagull’s flight, the changing clouds, the fading light as
Darkness starts to cover up what’s true
All I see and All I know Starts disappearing as I go
Around in circles staring at the darkness as it closes in but
Where are you and where am I I wonder as I start to cry
I see you there beyond the evening sky
Can’t reach you now no matter how I try
