Drowning Pool

I take my boat and row down the river to a place called Sorrow’s Grave
The Drowning Pool will set me free
Drifting down trapped in a memory of a girl I couldn’t save
She still burns inside of me
Going to sink my boat – going to free my soul
And suffocate this screaming pain
Once you’re in the Drowning Pool
There’s no way out again
Lean my boat into the cold water going down for one last time
To drown that haunted burning scene
Water churns, the boat starts a turning and I slowly sink inside
The whirlpool’s taking a hold of me
Under turning waves, waters wash away
The memory and burning pain
Once you’re in the Drowning Pool
There’s no way out again
I watch my sorrow sinking down, down, down then the pool’s surrounded by a light
I feel the water spinning ‘round, ‘round, ‘round, turning to the sounds of the night
Washed up on the bank of the river am I dead or still alive?
Someone whispers in the breeze
“Take my hand we’ll walk on the water ‘til we reach the other side”
I feel their presence lifting me
“Going to take you home – Going to rest your bones
And leave behind this world of pain”
Once you’re in the Drowning Pool
There’s no way out again
Once you’re in the Drowning Pool
There’s no way out again
