Down Into The Town
Copyright 2006 Michael S. Hysinger
Up on the hill there lives a girl all alone
Just by the river in a house made of stone
Where she - sleeps by day, dreaming the hours away
But when the sun goes down and magic fills the air
She goes down into the town
And she opens our hearts with the songs she sings
She goes down into the town
And she eases our pain with the hope she brings - into our dreams
She changes our lives if we believe in her magic
Healing the wounds of time that seem so tragic
As she - casts her spell, with words we know so well:
“We better learn to love before it’s all too late”
She goes down into the town
And she opens our hearts with the songs she sings
She goes down into the town
And she eases our pain with the hope she brings - into our dreams
She looks to the skies and you see in her eyes
All the tears that she hides in her song
What does she see is it love that we need?
Can she teach us so we get along?
Showing the way to set us free
Deep in our hearts we hold the key
She goes down into the town
And she opens our hearts with the songs she sings
She goes down into the town
And she eases our pain with the hope she brings - into our dreams
Up on the hill there lives a girl all alone
They say she’s an angel in her castle of stone,
Where she - sleeps by day, dreaming our fears away
But when the sun goes down her magic fills the air
She goes down into the town
And she opens our hearts with the songs she sings
She goes down into the town
And she eases our pain with the hope she brings - into our dreams
