The Passage

I heard the call I listened not – The call grew louder ‘til I stopped

And turned around to see you beckon me to follow you – Ah Hu

You led me down a corridor – a passage I had seen before

I thought that it would lead nowhere – at first I’m here then suddenly I’m there

Beyond a door I saw the light – It burned from somewhere out of sight

And though I couldn’t find the source I knew it came from you – Ah Hu

And as I stepped into the room I saw him dancing with the moon

A gentle smile upon his face as he stared into space – Ya Hu

Silently the Dervish turned

Silently the candle burned

And as he turned my world around and no one noticed – not a sound

Disturbed the silent music there that came from He knows where

I started here right in this place but soon I moved within the space

I found the steps I then retraced – They led me back to here – Now I’m there

Silently the Dervish turns

Silently the candle burns

If you are you and I am me then who are they and where is he

Who comes before and after – We are not supposed to know (unless we see)

I hold up time to candlelight - I note the end is not in sight

Then finally I get it right and then it disappears – and time is gone

Silently the Dervish turns

Silently the candle burns

I heard the call I listened not – The call grew louder ‘til I stopped

And turned around to see you beckon me to follow you and I do

Now every passage that I see – it holds a secret mystery

And even if it leads nowhere the Mystery is there – and here with me

Silently...
