I Start To Understand

The loneliness lies sleeping - I see it in my dreams

Oh that’s the place I fear the most to be

For when it starts to waken - And sees me here alone

I know for sure that it will come for me

I’ve been afraid for oh so long to look inside and see

The sorrow growing there inside of me

And now I feel it weigh me down

It’s time to let it go and then be free

I must release all the tears within - Love is the season I fear

That is the reason I’m here again - I start to understand

I see the answer slowly - Reveal itself to me

From far beyond the shadows of my mind

I must move through the feelings - Oh buried in my soul

And not conceal the love that’s there inside

I’ve danced around the pain for all these years and now I see

That tears are shaped just like the candle’s flame

Both are slowly burning there

Reminding me that I must do the same

I must release all the tears within - Love is the season I fear

That is the reason I’m here again - I start to understand

Light shining through the rain - Pouring within

Freedom lies through the pain - Now I begin

To see the way more clearly - The path that leads me there

I now begin the journey to be free

It used to seem so fearful - But now I’m not afraid

The only thing there stopping me was me

I’ve danced around the pain for all these years and now I see
